    • Background

      • Up until two years ago the web was the end goal, but now they have the app and podcasts

      • Eventually the web will be the gateway to the ecosystem — most people will come through the web

      • Honest Company for example does a lot of articles for SEO purposes which is how the web will be treated

      • Looking for different ways to visually organize the content

      • Problem with a content-based web is there’s not a lot of depth to engage

      • On the web, on average an engaged user, the average page view is 2 to 3 seconds so there’s not a lot you can glean from that

    • Can’t compare to other content products because it’s dense and serious

      • It’s not like The NY Times, have to be realistic about the way people consume their topic

      • Currently have 1.5-2M unique monthly users

      • Have used paid traffic to try to get data

    • Responsibilities

      • This person owns the product strategy for the web — a lot of decisions about what goes on the web vs. the app

      • Potentially expanding to multiple squads that power both the web and the app — if they’re interested in machine learning and search those are both in the pipeline

      • For web, want to find someone similar who can own not just the web but the backend services that power the web

      • Recommendation engines, personalization, taxonomy, tags — could potentially expand to a machine learning squad that handles NLP for example

      • Search could have its own squad

    • Ideal Background

      • Preferably products that are digital in nature (they’re not converting to buy physical experiences)

      • Anywhere from 1.5-2M uniques
