We’re looking for a full-time, Mechanical Engineer to join our Day & Zimmermann. This opportunity is open to applicants in Greenville, SC, Glen Allen, VA, Lexington, KY, Huntsville, AL or Philadelphia, PA . Hybrid: in the office three days a week. 

As the Mechanical Engineer, here’s the work you’ll do:

  • Perform engineering design activities including the development of engineering deliverables and data sheets/specifications for assigned process equipment, prepare quotation request and purchase orders for equipment and materials, and review vendor documentation to ensure compliance to specifications.  Able to perform as a Mechanical Lead for small projects with responsibilities to include Scopes of Work, Estimating, and Schedule Development
  • Develop and monitor project scopes and schedules for applicable discipline. Identify changes in scope / schedule and their impact, as they occur
  • Review vendor/supplier drawings/documentation
  • Prepare data sheets, specifications, calculations, sketches, and diagrams
  • Perform assigned tasks, to assist discipline lead

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Good understanding of engineering principles, terminology and industry practices
  • Self-starter- Able to work with minimal supervision
  • Passed or working on obtaining FE exam and working on obtaining PE.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Detail oriented

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering; Degree must be ABET accredited, or acceptable to the State Board of Engineers for licensure as a professional engineer
  • 7 or more years relevant work experience preparing data sheets, specifications, calculations, sketches, and diagrams as well as reviewing vendor/ supplier drawings/ documentation for EPC projects
  • FE Strongly preferred
  • US Citizen
  • Great attitude and team player
  • Successful completion of background screening process
