St. Joseph's University, New York (SJNY) announces their search forthe next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs(Provost/VPAA) of the University. SJNY seeks an experienced,forward-thinking academic scholar with a strong commitment to boththe Liberal Arts and career preparation programs, an earneddoctorate with a record of excellence in scholarship and teaching,a strong record of academic leadership, and a devotion to studentsuccess. Enlivened by the University Mission and a resonance withthe charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph, the Provost will makedecisions to advance the Mission, values and student-centeredculture of theUniversity.

The Provost/VPAA will report directly to an innovative President,Dr. Donald R. Boomgaarden, and collaborate with him in advancing aStrategic Plan designed to enhance a value-oriented, 21st centuryeducation characterized by academic excellence, and studenttransformation and success. The Provost will be responsible for thefurther development and integrity of the academic program and workin close collaboration with the Executive Deans, DepartmentChairpersons and Faculty Standing Committees. The successfulcandidate also will inspire faculty and staff who support more than4,300 diverse undergraduate and graduate students on three campusesin the New York metropolitan area: Brooklyn, Long Island, andonline.
