Senior Associate Director of Advancement Operations
St. Lawrence University seeks a Senior Associate Director ofAdvancement Operations. Reporting to the Executive Director ofAdvancement Operations (EDAO), the Senior Associate Directorcontributes to the ongoing success of the division in its missionto maximize philanthropy to St. Lawrence by assisting in theplanning, building, managing, and assessing its operating andadministrative systems. S/he investigates, develops, implements andmanages new assessment tools, benchmarking strategies, and returnon investment metrics; monitors data, interprets findings, andmakes recommendations to the EDAO. S/he collaborates with the EDAOand Senior Associate Director of Gifts, Records and Analytics inreport and list generation to meet the robust needs of thedivision. S/he coordinates and plans training programs focusing onboth information systems as well as administrative processes. S/heassists with monitoring division-wide progress towards goalsthrough a collaborative process with Advancement colleagues,directs workflow on major projects, and evaluates individual anddivision-wide results to ensure that objectives and operatingrequirements are met and coincide with the needs and mission of theUniversity. S/he will have overall responsibility for documentprocedures that impact TRE user community and users of other UAAdministrative Systems.
- Report and List Generation
Working collaboratively with EDAO and Senior Associate Directorof Gifts, Records & Analytics the Senior Associate Director ofOperations will be responsible for a portion of the report and listgeneration to support our colleagues across UA, while optimizingsystem capabilities. This includes, but is not limited to, pledgereminder, appeal files, RENXT lists and RENXT reports.
- Advancement Information Systems
Working collaboratively with EDAO, the Sr. Associate Director ofGifts and Analytics and our IT partners, the Senior Director ofAdvancement Operations will take a lead role in implementing newsystems, and system upgrades including TRE, BBNC, FundraiserPerformance Management, PeopleGrove, and other administrativesystems and databases to ensure seamless integration of UA businessprincipals as well as overall divisional goals andobjectives.
Develops, maintains and oversees a robust and comprehensiveUniversity Advancement training program to ensure the division isproperly trained on The Raisers’ Edge, Reeher Platform, BBNC andother UA databases and systems. The Sr. Associate Director ofAdvancement Operations also conceptualizes, organizes, and manageslogistics for training for all advancement staff members,coordinating topics, securing speakers, and creating originalcontent for presentations.
Responsible for overall development and documentation ofpolicies and procedures relating to TRE and other UA administrativesystems. Continually updates instructional materials as warrantedand participates in User Groups to ensure optimal use of systemsand compliance with UA and St. Lawrence Universitypolicies.
Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Flexibility of hours is required with occasional evening orweekend work.
The position requires an articulate, independent, savvyadministrative professional with superior organizational and verbaland written communications skills; working knowledge of computerapplications, including Windows, PowerPoint and advanced knowledgeof Excel. A bachelor’s degree plus five years related experience isrequired or equivalent combination of education andexperience.
