Job Summary:

This position is responsible for creating a climate conducive tofundraising by developing and securing gifts of $25,000+ forFrontier Nursing University’s strategic priorities. Reporting tothe Chief Advancement Officer, the Senior Philanthropy & AlumniOfficer will be responsible for identifying, cultivating,soliciting, and successfully stewarding qualified prospects anddonors.  The Officer will collaborate and meet regularly withadministrators, faculty, and staff to understand major prioritiesand goals, and to provide timely information on donorcultivation.  The Officer will be responsible for planning andimplementing successful alumni engagement plans, and will beresponsible for direct implementation of and support of Frontier’sAlumni Advisory Council.  

Supervisor Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of 150-175prospects to raise a minimum of $1 Million per year. 
  • Frequent travel required forin-person meetings to achieve a goal of 100+ meetings peryear. 
  • Work with supervisors,administrators, faculty and staff  to devise specificstrategies and timetables for the successful solicitation ofindividuals, including the use of planned giving vehicles: giftannuities, trusts, and bequests to assure the best use of time,budget and personnel.
  • Develop and write proposals andcorrespondence to prospective donors.
  • Utilize Frontier’s donor managementCRM and screening mechanisms to research prospects in preparationfor cultivation. 
  • Document contact reports on meetingsand interactions with alumni and friends in the donor managementsystem.
  • Keep donors up to date on their giftsand impact; happenings at the University in their areas ofinterest; and major changes within the University as awhole. 
  • Inform departments while movingprospects through the major gift lifecycle.
  • Integrate Alumni Relations andUniversity event activities as a component of the overalldevelopment strategy. 
  • Responsible for the management,direction and cultivation of Frontier’s Alumni AdvisoryCouncil. 
  • Create a yearly plan for alumniengagement, in conjunction with the Chief Advancement Officer.
  • Represent the Advancement Office athigh profile events including but not limited to conferencereceptions for alumni and friends, events on campus, and networkingevents held locally, regionally and nationally
  • Provide service to the Universitythrough activities such as involvement in FNU shared governance(e.g. committees, workgroups), FNU sponsored activities ( drives, community-outreach activities), and/or service tothe profession (e.g. presentations, profession organizationcommittee work).

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written and oralcommunication skills, and the willingness and ability to present togroups.

  • Ability to work independently as wellas collaboratively with team members.
  • Excellent computer skills includingGoogle applications and Microsoft Office. Familiarity withDonorPerfect or other comparable system preferred.
  • Extensive travel, nights and weekendsrequired

Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree required orequivalent relevant experience preferred
  • 8-10 years of related work experiencein non-profit organization, educational institution, or otherenvironment of similar complexity.
  • Strong fundraising credentials withsignificant major gift experience; including proven track record ofbuilding and developing a donor portfolio.

Physical Requirements:

Sit at a desk for lengthy periods of time. 

Ability to lift 35 lbs.

Ability to travel by vehicle or airplane for visits.

Reporting Relationship:

Reports directly to the Chief Advancement Officer

Work Location:

Hybrid (remote and onsite) available after the initial 30 daysof orientation, with identified onsite days required weekly inVersailles, KY.
