Teaching Assistant Professor of Economics

Description: The Sam M. Walton College of Business invites applications for a non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics.  This teaching professor position has a four-course teaching requirement each semester (12 credit hours per semester), with a potential mix of face-to-face and online courses, as needed.  Teaching responsibilities for this position will involve a mix of Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics courses at the undergraduate level.  The expected start date for the position is Fall 2023.  This position is a 9-month contract with opportunity to teach courses during the summer for additional salary.  The appointment is renewable and salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Required Qualifications:  Candidates must have a doctorate in economics (not ABD) with a record of excellent teaching experience in economics prior to start of employment.  Excellent and Innovative teaching is a key requirement for this position, and the candidate should furnish evidence about such activities in their CV or cover letter. 

Preferred Qualifications:  Preference will be given to candidates who have experience and/or an interest in both face-to-face and online course delivery.  Preference will also be given to Practice Academics as defined by AACSB standards (PhD, committed to the teaching mission, some interest in research).  Commitment to continued scholarly or professional engagement activity is expected.
