Truck Driver/General Laborer

Job Posting Truck Driver General Laborer Full Time / On-Call The Peterborough Public Works Dept. is accepting applications for a full-time Truck Driver/General Laborer. We are looking for a team player that can work in a professional, fast paced, and demanding environment. Job responsibilities include the operation of heavy equipment including dump trucks, plow trucks, backhoes, loaders, and other equipment in support of Dept. objectives; manual labor in support of the maintenance of public streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, and other Town-owned property, including buildings; roadside mowing; street sweeping; traffic safety; and other duties as required to help achieve Dept. initiatives. Persons with construction, carpentry, landscaping, paving, building and facility maintenance, or similar skills and experience are encouraged to apply. Normal working hours for this position are Monday through Thursday, 6:00am to 4:30pm 10-hour workday schedule, with mandatory overtime for emergencies and weather events. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 mos. experience in a related field. Position requires a CDL or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date. The Town will consider an appropriate combination of education and experience that provide the knowledge and skills to perform a range of duties. Starting pay will be negotiable based on relevant skills and experience. This position is classified as Union Pay Grade 1-3.
