Who we are looking for The Vancouver Housing Authority is seeking a Community Prevention Project Coordinator to work with West Van for Youth Coalition. This is a temporary position through the end of September 2023. The mission of the Coalition is to build the community in order to promote healthy choices and reduce youth substance use so young people can grow into resilient and healthy adults. The Community Prevention Project Coordinator position will coordinate the work of the Coalition and Drug Free Community (DFC) activities including coalition communication, data collection, and information dissemination. Responsible for managing federal, state, and private grants that support community based prevention coalitions.
What you'll do • Coordinate prevention efforts in cooperation with West Van for Youth Coalition and Steering Committee. • Manage the administrative aspects of the DFC grant, including but not limited to preparing and submitting all ongoing coalition data reports, certifications, and other reports or worksheets required by Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). • Consult with community based coalitions; assess and organize strategic prevention framework and implementing prevention strategies. • Track and prepare biannual reports in compliance with grant requirements. • Facilitate strategic work plans to develop community partnerships recruit new coalition members; and partner with school and community-based youth programs and other community resources. • Provide leadership in planning and coordinating community and school education and awareness events, media campaigns, and community/parent outreach. • Work with steering committee in acquiring in-kind donations, securing community partners (sector representatives) according to contract requirements, and identify and pursue local funding opportunities from individual, service clubs, businesses, and foundations. • Make presentations to service clubs and community groups about community based prevention coalitions. • Attend applicable trainings that may involve travel.
What we offer • The STARTING SALARY RANGE for this position is $4,661 - $5,127 per month based on experience. The full salary range for this position is $4,661 - $7,177 per month. The final candidate for this position will be paid within the STARTING SALARY RANGE. • Full-time, non-exempt, position working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday. • This is a temporary position through the end of September 2023. • 100% employer-paid medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance. • Benefits package also includes 10.39% paid into WA PERS by employer, 12 company paid holidays, and generous paid time off and separate sick time accrual. • Meaningful work that addresses affordable housing and homelessness in our community.
What you'll bring • Bachelor's degree in Social Service or Education plus at least two years of community based prevention coalition experience. • Master's degree preferred. • Experience with community organizing and volunteer management including recruitment and engagement highly desired. • Experience working with a strengths based approach. • Prevention Specialist certification preferred. • Valid driver’s license and/or dependable transportation.

Position Summary: The New York County District Attorney’s Office - Witness Aid Services Unit (WASU) has an opening for a Bi-Lingual Counselor its Witness Aid Services Unit (WASU). In this position the Counselor is responsible for providing counseling and therapeutic services to assist crime victims, witnesses, and their families. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

<li>Provide victim support and court accompaniment throughout the criminal justice process. Act as a liaison between victims, families, and Assistant District Attorneys and provide case status information.</li>
<li>Follow up contact with victims to monitor their connection to services.</li>
<li>Ability to interact effectively with victims, witnesses, families, law enforcement officers and criminal justice personnel.</li>
<li>Assist with a range of direct services such as crime victim compensation applications, emergency shelter placements; partner with DANY Advocates for additional concrete services.</li>
<li>Collaborate with outside agencies to assist crime victims and facilitate referrals to appropriate agencies.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate up to date case files as well as maintain statistics.</li>
<li>Will rotate and sit different office locations including the Downtown Office, Harlem Office and Washington Heights when assigned.</li>
<li>Perform related duties as assigned.</li>
</ul>Qualifications:
<ul><li>New York State LMSW/LCSW or LMHC</li>
<li>Experience working with domestic violence, sexual assault preferred.</li>
<li>Familiarity with the crime victims and/or criminal justice system preferred.</li>
<li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.</li>
<li>Ability to demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity to victim issues a must.</li>
